The aim of the annual Asian Arts Festival organised by Transinex Travel is to encourage young and old people between the ages of 6 to 80 from Asian cities to showcase their skills in all genres of performing arts (both ethnic and western). Performers are assessed based on a combination of factors by an international panel of adjudicators.

It provides a platform for intercultural performances, learning from others to improve levels of musicianship and a fun environment to nurture friendships between participants from Hong Kong, Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Korea, China, Indonesia and Vietnam.

Winning performers will be awarded with certificates as well as Gold, Silver or Bronze trophies as reviewed by renowned adjudicators.
Past festivals since 2013 were held at The University Cultural Centre, The Arts House, Jubilee Hall and Singapore Conference Hall.

About the Festival

Asia Arts Festival was successfully held in Singapore for the past 3 years. It has attracted participants of ages 6 to 80 from Asian cities.

Participants will also be presented with certificates and Gold, Silver or Bronze trophies based on their performances reviewed by renowned adjudicators.

Besides providing a wonderful platform for participants to perform, this festival also aims to provide an encouraging, fun, friendly and nurturing environment for varied Asians  At the festival, participants will be given the opportunity to showcase their skills and talents in all genres of performing arts, both Western and Ethnic. Participants of all ages  will get to interact and learn from one another to improve their musicianship, build and forge friendship.


Categories

Solo/Duet

Participants may showcase their talents in any genre of performing arts e.g. Dance, singing, playing an instrument (western and ethnic) etc. The performance must not exceed 5 minutes.

Trio/Quartet

Participants may showcase their talents in any genre of performing arts e.g. dance, singing, playing instruments (western and ethnic) etc. The performance must not exceed 5 minutes.

Small Group

Small group may consist of 5 to 12 performers. The group may showcase their talents in any genre of performing arts e.g. Dance ensemble, Instrument ensemble, Drama group, Acapella group or Show choir etc. There are no set repertoire requirements. The performance must not exceed 5 minutes.

Large Group

Large groups may consist of 13 or more performers. The group may showcase their talents in any genre of performing arts e.g. Dance ensemble, Band, Chinese orchestra, Drama group or Choir etc. There are no set repertoire requirements but an entertaining and balanced programme will be appreciated. The performance must not exceed 10 minutes.

Artistic Director - Mr Adrian Tan

Singaporean conductor Adrian Tan is one of the leading conductors of his generation. He is the music director of the Singapore Wind Symphony and the Braddell Heights Symphony Orchestra since 2012.

About the organiser

Youth Ambassadors (YA)is a non-profit social enterprise dedicated to empower youths in ASEAN countries and beyond to become change makers in their respective communities.

We specialise in organizing educational conferences for youths, offering them a platform to learn and be inspired through various activities, workshops and presentations. More importantly, we aim to promote positive interaction and cooperation between youths of different ethnicity with diverse cultures.

YA programs are primarily youth-led in terms of planning, organization and execution; hence our tagline, “Youth Empowering Youth”
